Danube Dragon exhibition in Belgrade (Botanical Garden "Jevremovac")

We are proud to inform you that within Horizon Europe DANUBE4all project, our exhibition "Welcome to the Empire of the Endangered Water Dragons" is traveling along the Danube and from 11-14 June 2024 it is hosted by the "Jevremovac" Botanical Garden in Belgrade (Serbia).

This exhibition was designed and first exhibited in the Donau-Auen National Park in Austria, after which it traveled to Germany (Passau, Ingolstadt, Neuburg) and Croatia (Kopački rit Nature Park). The main goal of the exhibition is to present the charismatic and endangered "Danube Dragon" - Danube crested Newt (Triturus dobrogicus) - as a flagship species for habitat restoration and ecological connectivity.

Visitors will get insight into the ecology, behavior and protection of this vulnerable species, as well as other amphibians.

Parallely, DANUBEPARKS has started the DANUBEdragonCONSERVATION project. Within this project, concrete conservation measures will be implemented in 6 Protected Areas along the Danube River: Persina Nature Park (Bulgaria), Koviljsko-petrovaradinski rit and Gornje Podunavlje Special Nature Reserve (Serbia), Kopački rit Nature Park (Croatia), Duna-Drava National Park (Hungary), Dunajské luhy Protected Landscape Area (Slovakia).
