The Danube Strategy communication has been released by the European Commission (EC) on December 8th, including the general Strategy and a more detailed Action Plan. Both are divided into four pillars: Mobility, Environment, Economy, and Security. The Action Plan lists flagship projects for all concrete actions to be implemented, including DANUBEPARKS on the field of biodiversity.
This underlines the increasing role of the DANUBEPARKS Network on a political level. We will keep up the work to ensure nature protection issues are on top of the agenda. It is the proof that the work of the Network is valued by many organizations and also from top European level, and will provide additional energy to the finalization work that will be done for many project activities in 2011.
