As a member of the Danube Competence Center (DCC), the DANUBEPARKS Network had the chance to be part of ITB Berlin, the most important travel fair in Europe, in March 2013.
DCC coordinated joint Danube countries activities, such as a Danube Passport game for individual visitors, guided visits to the Danube countries for trade visitors, or a Danube Forum with discussions on the Danube River as a transnational tourism destination. On DCC's own stand, transnational tourism projects were presented - DANUBEPARKS as a Network was there as well and informed visitors about nature tourism opportunities in the Danube's Protected Areas. Over 1.000 people visited the DCC stand where DANUBEPARKS was present during these five days; many new people learned about the Protected Areas Network in this way with the opportunity to immediately get personally informed by Szilvia Wodtke, our colleague from Duna-Dráva National Park representing us there.
The danube.travel web portal, which will gather information about tourism offers along the whole Danube River, in diverse sectors and for all different target groups, was launched by DCC. The DANUBEPARKS offers will of course be shown there soon as well!
