LIFE WILDisland technical training completed

The first meeting of all partners of the LIFE WILDisland project took place on December 16th. Due to the current covid-restrictions the event had to be carried out online.

The training gathered all 15 project partners from eight countries from Germany to Romania. The goal was to introduce all the partners and outline their actions and project role, as well as address technical issues on reporting and communication. The meeting was attended by Mr. Felix Bergmann, external monitor of the project, who kindly addressed all project member questions and need for clarification.

LIFE WILDisland is the biggest Nature project, funded within the LIFE financial tool of the European Union. It is a six-year project, which started in September 2021, uniting the efforts of DANUBEPARKS and partners representing the waterway, hydropower and forestry sector. Its aim is to jointly protect and revitalize the last near-natural "wild" islands on the Danube all the way from Germany to Romania.

We are looking forward to the start of the project actions and our first in-person meeting, planned for the start of 2022!
