Restoration Task Force meeting in Kopačevo

Last Thursday (April 3rd) in Kopačevo (Croatia), the round table “Challenges and Perspectives in the Implementation of Restoration Projects in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Mura-Drava-Danube” was organised within the project "Restoration of the European Amazon".

The newly formed Restoration Task Force (RTF) brought together stakeholders from all five countries of the biosphere reserve. The RTF is a collaborative platform for advancing river, forest, and grassland restoration, nature-based solutions, sustainable agriculture, ecological monitoring, and more.

During the event, Matej Marušić, Secretary General of DANUBEPARKS, presented on “International Collaboration for the Danube: Challenges and Opportunities” – highlighting the need for stronger transboundary cooperation in nature restoration across the Danube region.

Together, we are reconnecting riverine habitats and working toward a healthier, more resilient Danube and its tributaries.
