This week, the Transdanube Travel Stories project was presented to the DANUBEPARKS members in Germany and Croatia.
On September 13, the first project presentation was held in the Stabsstelle Strategien Klima, Biodiversitat und Donau office in the City of Ingolstadt. Both project publications - DANUBEPARKS cookbook „One river, ten countries, countless flavors“ and the second edition of „Nature's Havens on the Danube“ book - were presented to the representatives of the City of Ingolstadt as Donauwald Neuburg-Ingolstadt (area managed by the member) found place in both project publications.
The same day, project outputs were presented in the Passau District Office. The focus of the presentation was on activities of other Tourism Product Clubs related to the Returning to the Last Danube and new Green Travel Products developed within the project. After the project presentation, 2nd Product Club meeting took place to discuss the upcoming activities and sustainability of Product Club after the project.
It is decided that a new tourist offer should be developed in which the participants come into contact with the local nature in the Danube valley. Nature and homeland are to be made perceptible in the form of excursions and joint work assignments for nature. Excursions into nature, joint work activities, sustainable accommodation, transport and catering, and joint evenings with local music could be offered with this new touristic product.
On September 14, 2022, the presentation of the project result took place in Visitor Center Krapje in Lonjsko polje Nature Park. The presentation took place in the early morning hours as volunteers and staff members of the Park were involved in the first action in the framework of the 4th Danube Volunteers Day. Ten young volunteers from Kratečko Primary School and four experts from the Park were collecting waste together near a common pasture in Mužilovčica and the animal shelter located in an old oak forest.
